Despite being a talented coder and hacker, far outclassing most of his fellow Grid agents, Buck(y) considers himself a failure. A failure that goes around just fucking shit up more than it already is. He is highly self critical and has issues with his self esteem and confidence. This self hate also causes him to be a kind of standoffish person who would rather be left alone than in a group of people; a classic introvert. [break][break]
It is difficult to get to know the cranky crab that is Buck(y) and he'll tell you it's not worth the trouble to try to. [break][break]
Bucky really isn't the friendly type. Most people find his attitude standoffish and his cold uncaring look doesn't help either. Not that he cares. He enjoys his me time and would rather not have to commit to spending time with others since they were "friends". Getting through this apathetic exterior and being able to talk to him without annoying him could lead to a potential friendship. Maybe.

The best bet to being his pal is to meet him online. Buck frequently visits chatrooms bc a guy gets lonely, you know? That, and gathering info from stranger on the internet is what the Grid wants.

He may think of himself as the ultimate failure, but that doesn't mean Buck wants to hear it coming from others. That's a surefire way to get on his bad side. Bringing up his past failures also is a bad idea. All of these things will have someone end up on his hit list of people to dox and then black mail. Bucky may not be physically violent but with everyone's lives being online there's a hell of a lot he can do.

Or, you could just be annoying. He isn't the most patient man in the world when it comes to dealing with people so there's that to watch out for.
