PERSONALITY: it'd be doing julio a disservice to describe his typical social interaction as anything but theatrical. with a flair for the dramatic, a booming, impassioned voice combined with antiquated vocabulary extending far, far into the territory of sesquipedalian loquaciousness, julio - or as he'd insist in third person, vegas - is a man who should have renamed himself bravado.

it's that hot-blooded nature - fiery as the depths of hell themselves, he'd add, forged in the passion of youth - that makes julio julio. it's combined with an attitude that’s optimistic to extreme. to him, the glass isn't just half full. it's a gorgeous glass only a dashingly small quantity away to fulfilling its true destiny. it's not unsurprising that people find him high-maintenance and too full-on for them. interacting with “vegas” can be tiring, if not plain baffling, given his insistence on being so loud and sensationalised.

ultimately, julio’s larger-than-life persona is used as denial as much it is theatre and fun. a dogged adherence to his morality leads to refusal to accept anything other than what conforms to his worldview. julio will force it if he needs to.

BIOGRAPHY: behold! from a cradle in the sky, justice incarnate dawned on orre. 'twas fate itself that steered the great vegas into the arms of the gladiators and 'tis fate itself that will lead the gladiators to victor.[break][break]

or rather, julio romero considers realgam tower his home. the temporary accommodation outside the tower where he was born no longer exists; portable cabins turned homes for blue collar workers at the casino were bulldozed one of the many times the tower switched hands. the new owners felt they ruined the view.[break][break]

his parents think it was with luck they latch onto boarding at the hotel but julio thinks destiny. as he grew he learnt the ins and out of the realgam tower as well as its tricks. but, to him, nothing was better than the gladiators that come to fight for the glory of orre and the greatest grace the colosseum. he’s not accepted into their ranks as a child. nay, the stars did not dictate it that way.[break][break]

because young julio romero doesn’t become a gladiator but the almighty vegas does. a decade and a half later vegas was the alias of a competitor known for dramatic antics, something of a cult status among some fans and a ban from outskirts town’s colosseum. but the stars align when a gladiator reached out to him for something more than a bewildered exchange of words. they were following rumours of fixed matches – from there on it escalated.[break][break]

vegas’ appeal process into the gladiators was colourful. he slid in with the wave of newer but older recruits meant to stem the tide of styx. vegas – julio too – couldn’t be more thrilled to fulfil what’s pre-ordained by the gods themselves.
