PERSONALITY: rock could be likened to a frozen lake. cold, slippery, and likely to crack and drag you under should you make a wrong step. [break][break]

his calm and collected demeanor is a thin outer shell that only scarcely disguises the dangerous storm swirling beneath his skin. though it's given just from the way he carries himself that he's a thug, ready to punch first and ask questions later, he's a perceptive and skeptical young man with talent for gauging intention and motive. rock is used to being wronged, always on guard and knowingly expecting the worst - both of himself and of others.[break][break]

finding solace in honing his physical skills through combat, he takes pleasure in taking on any would face him - willing to engage in matches against human and pokemon alike. when blood and sweat doesn't cut it however, he often finds himself testing his mental acuity at the casino. with the sense and restraint to know when to call it quits, he leaves its doors more often than not with a bit of extra padding for his wallet.[break][break]

though self-concerned and pitiless, he has managed to earn himself some amount respect for his relability. he isn't given to lying and isn't one to go against his word - be it a deal, a promise, or a threat.

BIOGRAPHY: ludo vicelli, originally a simple, hard working man from pyrite city, managed to climb rank and carve out a nice enough wage to move to phenac. while initially met with a sense of wariness, with a bit of time and effort he was able to earn the trust of his neighbors, becoming known as a humble man of integrity. after a few short years there he met his wife, and, under the noses of both her and the authorities, quietly establish a lucrative business for himself. with that, white collar crime became the vicelli family business.[break][break]

ludo never forgot his roots. he established an orphanage, helped to fund after school programs, and helped to start a food bank for the underprivileged of pyrite. the wages he paid under the table to his secondary business were generous enough to inspire loyalty, and his shrewd business sense and twisted ethic garnered respect. he was calculating, cunning, and ruthless, and his word became established as law wherever it was spoken in the under. things were comfortable, and once he'd established himself as a figure in phenac and pyrite both, he and his wife moved away from the comfort of the city to enjoy the fruit of his labor in agate.[break][break]

rock grew up surrounded by decrepit trainers who seemed to be losing their edge to their old age. there were almost never any kids to play with, he was constantly treated as a toddler no matter his age, and there was absolutely nothing to do. he resented his life, and when he learned that his father had been a high ranking crime lord of styx, he grew to resent him too.[break][break]

ludo, of course, had never truly retired from his work. as soon as his son was old enough he began sending him out with the most trusted members of his circle, allowing them to teach him the tricks of their trade. rock took to it well, and his hot temper balanced with the patience necessary to deal with the old folk of agate gave him both a cool head and a hair trigger that his fellows came to respect.[break][break]

it came to be that rock was hardly ever home. he was always off with some fraction of his father's network, collecting on loans, acquiring information, ensuring deliveries, and checking in on old friends on ludo's behalf. after a few years though, his mother finally became suspicious of his father's dealings. she passed shortly after in a mugging during a trip to visit family in phenac. [break][break]

with her out of the picture, ludo's attention fell fully to readying rock to take the reigns of his business upon his passing. rock, to his father's disappointment, refused. he was tired of living in his father's shadow, and while he would continue to work for him as his son, informed him he would have to find someone else to oversee the business.

HISTORY: purchased from an auction in phenac city, kuno was the centerpiece of the entire affair. carefully bred from a long line of venomoth serving fuschia city's highest ranking shinobi, her pedigree inspired quite the bidding war. it may have been whispers of the name "vicelli" that slowed the bids rather than the steep price.

HISTORY: originally a cargo mover for a freight mechanic shop in the under, when rock saw the pokemon hard at work moving heavy parts and machinery his competitive nature immediately took hold. after challenging the pokemon to a wrestling match and finding himself defeated, rock purchased tank from his owner to bring home as his own personal sparring partner.
