PERSONALITY: The world sees Joseph as an easy-going man that faces the world with a bright, charming smile. Joseph takes things as they come and do things at his own pace. Joseph believes that patience is virtue as he slips up when rushing through things. Despite growing up in Pyrite Town Joseph loves to meddle in other people's affairs. In this aspect some would call him either fearless or moronic, more so the latter.

Joseph welcomes those who approach him with open arms. Joseph tends to run his mouth a bit too much and an ego large enough that calling him arrogant wouldn't be too far-fetched. Joseph takes even serious things lightly, just laughing them off with a single chuckle. Although this is merely a persona he portrays to others, Joseph is a firm believer in optimism and lightheartedness. While some could refer to him as manipulative and cunning, he does as he pleases.

Be wary for when Cipher business starts Joseph undergoes a change. While he may still be lighthearted, Joseph will place the mission above all else. It would be no understatement to call Joseph a perfectionist during missions. He is merciless to strangers and enemies, but he holds some regard for his fellow Cipher members.

BIOGRAPHY: The Blackwood family used to dedicated to Pokemon Breeding. That was until their relation with Cipher was discovered and Joseph's parents were sent to prison. Joseph and his little sister, Cecilia, grew up in an orphanage within Pyrite Town. Their treatment could only be summed up as 'harsh' due to the radial Anti-Cipher believers within the town. Joseph only put up a strong, lighthearted facade to spare his sister of worry. The two siblings depended only on each other as they were all that they had.

Both Joseph and Cecilia moved out of the orphanage and lived in a small building thanks to the money Joseph saved up working odd jobs. Most of the money Joseph earned went towards paying off medical bills for Cecilia. Despite Joseph's attempts to protect and care for the sickly Cecilia it all was for naught when Cecilia collapsed and needed more expensive medical care. Joseph had no other choice but to turn towards the organization that once ruined the siblings chance at a normal life, Cipher.

HISTORY: Red was Joseph's starter that he got from Cipher. It was stolen from a raid and was one of the many pokemon distributed among the Cipher recruits.
