[attr="class","mscroll"]meet vincent calder, an information broker by trade and opportunist by nature. vincent grew up in pyrite town; he'll tell you he did so as a street kid, and maybe that's the truth. maybe it's close enough, when your dad doesn't come home five nights out of seven and your mom is no better. whatever it is, vincent grew up alone, and he doesn't talk about his parents nowadays except in the abstract. for the most part vincent's a friendly guy, if unnerving in just how much he knows or has the potential to know about you. if you're a big shot in styx, chances are he's got your secrets. he can be paid to keep his mouth shut about those, though, or given enough he'll even sell you info on your competitors. just be careful what you wish for. FRIENDS should be aware that vincent will happily stab someone in the back if they've turned out to betray him. he's the personification of "hide a knife behind a smile." true friends will likely have bled for him at least a couple of times, and you'll know it when you are, because vincent will point-blank refuse to sell information about you. good luck getting to that point, though - vincent is the type to keep two true "friends," at max. good for: getting IC information, gossiping, friendly acquaintances, slow then sudden friendships. bad for: quick friendships, complete loyalty. ENEMIES should be aware, because pissing off an info broker is probably not the way you'd like to die. it's both easier and harder to be vincent's enemy than you think - easier, because mess with him once and you're automatically on his hit list, and harder, because you're still a potential client and source of information. even the cipher and the shadow pokemon aren't really enemies to him - he understands that enslaving pokemon like that is horrid and wrong, yeah, but he's not the sort to go on a crusade about it. he's fine with gladiators, too, as long as they don't try to arrest him. good for: information networks, sudden hatreds, passive-aggressive relationships. bad for: righteous martyrdom, large-scale battles, long feuds. OTHER i don't have any ideas for this right now, so feel free to pitch thoughts at me!! i promise i won't bite =w= | [attr="class","mbox"] [attr="class","mcover"]
[attr="class","mscroll"]alena vasilieva is the new ceo and head of the vasiliev corporation, and she's not entirely happy about it. she'll smile about it, sure, when she's in the public light, and she sure as hell seems confident that she'll take the company to new heights. but the mantle is a heavy weight on her shoulders and for all that she tries, it's hard. FRIENDS include business partners, associates, childhood friends, maybe even some vasiliev corp employees if you want that. alena's a friendly person, and her public persona is nearly her whole - dramatic, fickle, oddly kind and surprisingly thoughtful. it's hard to get through her shields most of the time, especially now that she has to essentially good for: business relationships, boss-employee relationships, if you want someone to hire you for things, legal or otherwise. bad for: current roommates, old exes, friends with benefits. ENEMIES can run from professional to personal - that being, someone who seeks to undermine or gut the company from inside is definitely gonna die by her hands. someone who wants her dead, personally, will confuse her. she can be as cutting as a knife and scathingly sarcastic at times, but that's just a part of who she is - if you're insulted by that, that's life. unless you touch someone she considers a friend or one of her employees - then the gloves come off. and if she screws you over in the name of the company - well, that's just business. good for: corporate espionage, manhunt-style threads, passive-agressive sniping. maybe some assassination attempts if you wanna try your hand at that lmao. bad for: personal hatreds, long feuds. OTHERS can mean a lot of things! maybe our characters met in college? (alena specialized in business and economics, but she also has minors in polisci and orre region studies.) maybe your character is just interested in the vasiliev corp and what pies they have their fingers in? who knows! feel free to toss ideas around with me | ||
