she waded into the water very gradually-- first, her feet, then her ankles, and a minute later, her waist, and then her chest and neck. the water was cold but not unpleasant. the swimming pool at the country club in unova was far warmer, but she doesn't have any recollection of the pool beyond that. her father used to take her when she was young.
juniper keeps a pokeball with her; she knows very well that a pokemon could ambush at any time. still, she allows herself to relax, ducking under the water to avoid waves every so often.
