BIOGRAPHY: No one aside from the Delacroix family knew where Alexandre came from before he was adopted into the family. When asked, all that’s said is that he came from far away and then the matter was closed. However, even then it was clear at first when he was young that he was an outsider in Phenac and therefore was looked down upon by the residents and even his older adoptive siblings at first.

As nice as the Delacroix family was, their expectations and demands were as stifling as the judgment and disdain Alex had gotten from their social circle. He didn’t have a talent for numbers and the like either, so he didn’t want to go work in one of the Delacroix’s businesses despite their insistence for that as one of the choices. Instead, he asked permission to join the Gladiators, something most of his siblings encouraged as they didn’t want to go through with the training and instead do other things. After initial reluctance, he was allowed to join in.

He spends years in the Gladiators working his way from the bottom up. The first several years were hard as he was unused to both the environment and the strictness of the organization, especially since he had been an impulsive and individualistic child. But then everything changed after a disastrous incident involving an operation gone horribly wrong that got quite a few of his squad members and even one of his siblings severely injured or killed due to him going maverick. He nearly got court martialed for it, but his parents’ connections within the Gladiators as well as his own track record of success and moral integrity despite the discipline problems were enough to let him stay on, albeit with a demotion.

With a second chance and a new lease on life, Alexandre decided to fully throw himself into becoming the best Gladiator and person that he can be so that kind of incident won’t happen again on his watch. There was stigma against him at first after that incident but he eventually overcame that in a few years after they saw that he was serious. After that, he began to rise through the ranks, albeit at the same time he began to close himself off from other people and became focused on –or perhaps obsessed with- duty.

However, he did still take the time to help out those who were struggling. Those good deeds bit him in the ass as his altruistic actions and budding friendship with one particular gladiator –Robin Evelynn- was misunderstood as romantic interest for some reason (or more likely there were other agendas afoot) so he and Robin were engaged without their knowledge or consent.

They couldn’t get out of it without facing severe consequences from either of their families, so in the end they got married soon after his promotion as the Laquearius, five years before the present day. Since then, both have been juggling work, their married life, the slow build of their relationship, parental pressure, and the dangerous things in the horizon….

HISTORY: Given to him by his adoptive parents as a Beldum. Solomon is easily the most like Alexandre in personality, being serious, no-nonsense, and strict to the point of often taking the role of leader in Alexandre’s team. From the time he was a Beldum all the way to the present as a Metagross, Arthur thinks of himself as his trainer’s primary guardian and part-time secretary and he takes those roles very seriously.

HISTORY: Spartacus is Alexandre’s first pokemon and dearest friend, having been with him since before he had been adopted by the Delacroix family. They are as close as brothers and they would go through hell to protect each other and their family unit. He is quiet, but he is wise and brave with a quiet strength about him, as well as kind and tends to act like a dad-figure to the other pokemon in Alex’s and even his wife’s team.

HISTORY: Befriended as a Cubone in Ula’ula in Alola during a vacation there, Khan is the first pokemon Alexandre ever caught. As fierce as his eerie flames and more stubborn than most rocks, Khan is one hell of a dangerous customer both in and out of battle. He still has his temper from when he was a Cubone, but Alexandre and Spartacus have tried their best to make this hothead calmer and have somewhat succeeded. However, he’s still very much gung-ho and ready to go.

HISTORY: Given to him by his wife Robin as a Ralts, which he kept despite his parents’ quiet disapproval and disappointment. Under his care and guidance, Joan grew up to become an elegant yet modest Gardevoir. She often acts as the mediator between him and most of the people he interacts, helping to soothe ruffled feathers and keep people calm at the least.

HISTORY: Rescued from poachers in Orre and stayed with Alexandre after growing to like him. She’s a happy and optimistic sweetheart despite her large size and predatory demeanor. She also has great nurturing instincts and tends to be protective of and affectionate to those she likes while lashing out if any of them are in danger or seem to be in danger.

HISTORY: Originally a scarred Magikarp who persistently kept attacking him or messing with him specifically at sea in Gateon Port until he caught it. It evolved into Gyarados after much training and discipline, though the latter only sort of worked as he’s still mischievous and loves to mess with people and things if things aren’t serious. He loves violence as much as he loves his jokes, pranks, and meat, but he’s still nice enough as long as he’s in a good mood.
